House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is pushing for Dr. Anthony Fauci to testify, and he’s not happy that President Donald Trump is refusing to allow it.
The Democratic-controlled House created an oversight committee last month — which only has Democratic lawmakers, no Republicans — to investigate the Trump administration’s coronavirus response.
Schiff took to Twitter on Tuesday and claimed that Trump does not want Fauci to testify because he’s afraid of what he might say.
Fauci serves as the nation’s leading infectious disease doctor and a key member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force.
“Trump is afraid Fauci will be more candid under tough questioning and without Trump looming behind him. But that’s the entire point,” Schiff tweeted.
It's clear why Trump doesn't want Dr. Fauci to testify before the House,
Even though Trump has him speak at the White House propaganda sessions:

In the video clip of Trump that Schiff responded to, the president was asked on Tuesday by reporters about why he blocked Fauci from testifying.
Trump argued that the Democrat-created oversight committee it’s nothing but a trap from Democrats to pick apart Fauci’s words to attack him.
“The House is a setup. The House is a bunch of Trump-haters,” Trump said.
He continued, “They put every Trump hater on the committee, the same old stuff. They frankly want our situation to be unsuccessful, which means death. … The House has put on an oversight committee Maxine Waters and Maloney, the same people, and it’s just a setup.”
“The House, I will tell you, they should be ashamed of themselves. And frankly, the Democrats should be ashamed. Because they want us to fail so they can win an election, which they’re not going to win,” Trump added.
The White House also released a statement on blocking Fauci’s testimony before the House, saying it wanted more clarification on “the parameters of what the hearing would entail so we could determine if he was the best guess or if it was someone else’s jurisdiction.”
Fauci is set to testify before a Senate committee next week, along with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield.
Last month, Fauci shut down media reports that Trump does not listen to him.
While speaking to the Daily Caller’s Vince Coglianese, Fauci said:
That is really unfortunate. I would wish that would stop because we have a much bigger problem here than trying to point out differences. They really, fundamentally, at the core when you look at it, there are no differences. The president has listened to what I’ve said with the other people on the task force have said. When I’ve made recommendations, he’s taken them. He’s never countered and overridden me. The idea of pitting one against the other is just not helpful and I’d wish that would stop so we can look ahead at the challenge we have together to get over this thing.
Another day, another meltdown from Democrats who only care about going after the president.
