Fox News primetime host Jesse Watters noted on his Tuesday evening program that days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi was arrested for driving while intoxicated, his police mug shot has yet to be made public, suggesting there is “more to the story.”

“We have already told you the Pelosis are about as corrupt as families can be. And now the long arm of the law has finally come down on them – but not for what you think,” Watters began his segment, going on to explain that the Speaker’s multimillionaire husband “was arrested this weekend after he blew through a stop sign and slammed his Porsche into a Jeep while Nancy was across the country.”

“First of all, have you ever been to a dinner party without your significant other? Me neither. I think there’s more to the story,” Watters opined.

The host noted further that Paul Pelosi was returning home to “the Pelosi vineyard, you know – the one valued between 5 and 25 million dollars, where they entertain all their friends and fancy Silicon Valley executives.”

According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, he “was subsequently booked into the Napa County Detention Center for a violation of 23152(a) and 23152(b) of the vehicle code.” The statement added: “The crash is being investigated by the Napa Area.”

Regarding Paul Pelosi’s mugshot, the sheriff “told us the jail had to release it. And then the jail said the sheriff’s office had to release it and then one of our producers was told the city council had to release it.

“And then we were directed to the county board of supervisors. And then when we called the vice-chair of the board, he said why would we have a mugshot?” Watters added.

“All I know is someone’s going through a lot of trouble to keep this mugshot hidden,” Watters speculated.

Following his arrest, Nancy Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill, said she would not be commenting on the matter publicly.

“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Hammill noted. Pelosi was in Rhode Island giving a commencement speech to graduates at Brown University.

Follow-on reporting noted that Paul Pelosi was involved in a deadly motor vehicle accident some 65 years ago in which he killed his brother while drunk.

Pelosi “killed his brother in an early morning car wreck 65 years before his latest arrest for drunk driving,” the Daily Mail reported. “Paul Pelosi was just 16, a high school sophomore, when his sports car flipped over in February 1957 in Northern California.”

The San Francisco Examiner reported on February 23, 1957, that David John Pelosi “was trapped under the light car driven by his brother when it flipped over on Skyline Highway a mile north of Crystal Springs Dam at 2:40 a.m.”

“He was dead on arrival at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo,” the article stated. “The brother, Paul, 16, also was trapped for a time but managed to struggle free and summon aid. He suffered a broken collarbone.”

“According to Patrolman [Thomas] Ganley, David warned young Paul, as the car neared a tight curve near the dam: ‘This is a bad stretch–better slow down’,” the article continues. “Paul said he tried to slow down by shifting gears, and lost control.”

“The car veered across the road, bounced back from a small embankment, climbed 20 feet up another, spun around and somersaulted simultaneously and ended upside down on the shoulder with both youths underneath,” the report concluded.

It didn’t take long for many social media users on both sides of the political aisle to weigh in on the matter.

Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert: “This Memorial Day weekend, remember not to drink and drive. Save a life, call an Uber. @SpeakerPelosi.”

Chad Prather, The Blaze: “Paul Pelosi is worth $120M and this economy is so bad even he can’t afford a chauffeur.”

Conservative commentator Brigitte Gabriel: “Paul Pelosi is worth over $100 million and he can’t afford to call a cab.”

Democrat strategist Peter Daou: “The DUI is bad, but the Pelosi family’s insider trading is even worse.”
