More and more Republicans are rallying behind former President Donald Trump for what they believe is a ridiculous prosecution of him in New York.

Speaker of the House and Republican California Rep. Kevin McCarthy just dropped a bomb on the people who want to indict former President Donald Trump, including Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

“Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” he said on Saturday.

“Alvin Bragg is bought by George Soros. He allows violent criminals to walk the streets of New York City, but will prosecute the likely Republican nominee (and former president) on a baseless misdemeanor charge. These people are trying to turn America into a third-world country,” Republican Ohio Sen. JD Vance said.

“Bragg’s indictment of President Trump for a created crime is the final straw in Bragg’s destruction of the reputation of the foremost DAs’ office in the United States. Bought and paid for the by thy man who despises American nationalism, George Soros,” former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said.

“George Soros is an EVIL person who wants to tear this country apart. His handpicked prosecutor has made destroying Trump his top priority. They want EVERY conservative arrested and in jail. These people want COMMUNISM in America!!” Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson said.

“If the Manhattan DA indicts President Trump, he will ultimately win even bigger than he is already going to win. And those Republicans that stand by and cheer for his persecution or do nothing to stop it will be exposed to the people and will be remembered, scorned, and punished by the base,” Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said.

“President Trump did nothing wrong and has always fought for the American people, and we all know it, which is why we love him. And any Republican who thinks the Democrats will stop this madness once Trump is out of the way is fooling themselves,” she said.

“Weaponized Government and Political Persecution are new chapters in their playbook and they will use those methods against anyone who stands in their way. And we are absolutely fed up with the two-tiered justice system or rather INJUSTICE system in America.

“The base has had enough of Republicans that won’t stand up for the people and against the Democrats war against Trump, his admin, his supporters, and traditional values,” she said.

“Prosecutors should apply the same standards as they would to anyone else: this wouldn’t have been a criminal prosecution in any other case (a misdemeanor at most). No doubt about it. Our entire country is skating on thin ice right now & we cannot afford to politicize the justice system or else we will reach our breaking point,” Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said.

“The impending indictment of President Trump in NY must be treated as it is: a politically-motivated prosecution based on a strained, convoluted legal theory. It makes clear the danger of a politicized ‘justice’ system that will be (is being) weaponized against ALL Americans,” Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy said.

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, the third-ranking Republican in the House and someone whose name has been mentioned as a potential 2024 running mate, called Trump’s possible arrest “unAmerican” and added that Democrats have reached “a dangerous new low.”

“Knowing they cannot beat President Trump at the ballot box, the Radical Left will now follow the lead of Socialist dictators and reportedly arrest President Trump,” she said in a statement shared on Twitter, describing him as the leading GOP candidate.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), speaking at the Vision ’24 National Conservative Forum on Saturday, dismissed the Manhattan district attorney’s case against Trump, asserting that he believes the prosecutors are “scared” of him.

“The prosecutor in New York has done more to help Donald Trump get elected president than any single person in America today,” Graham said.

He noted further: “If I were President Trump, I’d take this all the way to the damn Supreme Court.”

Added Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.): “If they can come for Trump, they will come for you. This type of stuff only occurs in third world authoritarian nations.”

“Virtually every campaign finance violation involves either 1) spending other people’s money illegally or 2) taking money into your campaign that you shouldn’t. Trump did neither,” tweeted Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida.

“He used his own money to resolve a private dispute, irrespective of any campaign,” he said.
