Liz Cheney, the former Republican Representative from Wyoming, has secured a new book deal, and the timing of its release is likely influenced significantly by former President Donald Trump.

The book, titled “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning,” is set to be published just a few months before the opening of the 2024 primary and caucus season. It will describe the danger Cheney perceived in the riots and her continuing concerns about Trump’s role in them, according to the publisher Little, Brown & Company.

Cheney is portrayed as a courageous whistleblower who took great risks to expose Trump’s role in attempting to challenge and hinder the Electoral College vote for President Joe Biden, adding she is now considered a martyr.

“Cheney will explain why she decided to stand almost alone against her party; why she risked her career, her seat, and her position in leadership to do what she knew was right,” a press release said.

Publisher Bruce Nichols added: “Liz Cheney sacrificed her seat in Congress to stand up for the Constitution, and thereby became a profile in courage for the nation. It is an honor for Little, Brown to publish this urgent, much-needed account.”

Cheney, who was Wyoming’s representative-at-large until she lost her seat to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman after picking a fight with the former president, went on to say: “The last two years have shown us once again that our constitutional republic is not self-sustaining. It survives only because of the courage and honor of individual Americans. When history looks back on this time, each elected official will have to answer the questions: Did we do our duty? Were we faithful to our oath of office?”

The publisher noted further: “OATH AND HONOR is a memoir of these dramatic, history-changing events, and an inspirational call to action. It is a warning — at a moment when the threat has not passed — about the fragility of our constitutional republic and what is required to defend and sustain it. Cheney’s book will explain exactly what is at stake in 2024, and why no president who did what Donald Trump did can ever be given a second term.”

Cheney is no longer in Congress, but rumors are swirling that she’s considering a run for the White House.

Policy strategist Greg Valliere published an analysis in February of potential Republican presidential candidates he said would “emerge soon.” President Joe Biden’s team keeps claiming he is running, and Trump announced back in November he was making another run.

Valliere notes that there are other notable Republicans such as Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Cheney who could run as “darkhorse” candidates that gain steam in the GOP primary.

And, of course, Valliere details how Trump’s biggest threat could come from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Cheney has made a slew of comments in the last year suggesting she may run for president for no reason other than to “stop” Trump from holding office again.

During a recent interview, Cheney did not rule out running for president in 2024. Despite recent polling showing that she got clobbered in a hypothetical 2024 GOP primary poll, Cheney made it clear that her mission is to go after Trump.

“At this point, I have not made a decision about 2024. I am really very focused on the substance of what we have to do on the select committee, very focused on the work that I have to do to represent the people of Wyoming, and I’ll make a decision about 2024 down the road,” Cheney said.

While speaking at The Texas Tribune Festival earlier this year, she threatened to leave the Republican Party if Donald Trump is the 2024 nominee.

“I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee. And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” she said.
