Soon-to-be House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan believes the ongoing federal investigation of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden is about to take a big step forward after recent developments.

In an interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, the Ohio Republican suggested “something is up” with the probe because of a new interest in the story by many of the same media outlets that initially dismissed reports of corruption evidence stemming from materials and emails obtained from a laptop he reportedly abandoned at a computer repair store in Delaware in 2019.

“So that’s what happened. That’s why this is all connected because the influence of big media, big tech, and big government in impacting our election — I think we said this last week, Sean. My colleagues had this in the committee a few weeks ago, Matt Gaetz. He said, when will the FBI stay out of elections and let us, the people, decide? In 2016, they went after Trump’s campaign, 2018, it was a Mueller investigation, 2020, they suppressed the Hunter Biden story, 2022, 91 days before the midterm election, they raid his home, and now, just two weeks ago, three days after he announces for the 2024 race, they name a special counsel and it’s not just anybody, it’s Jack Smith and the record that he has of weaponizing the government to go after the people,” Jordan continued.

“It sure looks like Joe Biden was involved,” Jordan added.  “So, my, how this story has changed. And now, we find out these text messages and emails that link the entire family, not just Hunter and Joe and — but also uncle, the — Joe’s brother, James Biden, is involved in this as well.”

At a joint press conference last week, Kentucky GOP Rep. James Comer detailed plans to investigate Hunter Biden in the next Congress.

“We’re looking at this umbrella of political operations at the Justice Department all the way back to the very first whistleblower came to us over a year ago, about a year ago, I should say, regarding the school boards issue. So we’re concerned about anything that is being done in a political fashion at the Justice Department,” noted Jordan responding to a question about the DOJ.

“Because, remember, you got to step back. It’s supposed to be in this great country, the greatest country ever. It’s supposed to be equal treatment under the law. And when you have a Justice Department that’s not following that fundamental principle, principle, I think that sets our country apart from all others. And that is a major problem,” Jordan concluded.

“Do you think the January 6th insurrectionists have been wrongly imprisoned?” asked a reporter.

“I didn’t say anything. All it said is, all I said is we’re going to look at the politics, at the Justice Department based on the fact that we have had 14 different actually more than 14 now whistleblowers come talk to us. That’s what we’re going to focus on,” Jordan replied.

“My last question is, what are the grounds…,” began the same reporter as Comer cut in.

“If we can keep it about Hunter Biden, this is kind of a big deal we think if we can give you about Hunter Biden, that would be great,” Comer interjected, taking over the Q&A.

“I just wanted to take you back. She said January 6th. Just what do you plan to do with the January 6th investigation?” asked another reporter as Comer raised his arms in frustration.

“I think that’s a question. I think that’s a question for Kevin McCarthy that we’re focused on. A lot of investigations. I’ve been very transparent with the media on it. That wasn’t one of them. But. Yes,” Comer replied.

Last month, Jordan spoke about the Biden developments and said the story has changed “dramatically” as the House investigation picks up speed.

“We got all kinds of documents and evidence” that show Joe Biden was involved, Jordan revealed on FOX Business’ “Mornings with Maria” that the GOP-led House prepares to investigate the Biden family’s alleged past business dealings.
