Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a shocking claim early Wednesday that has generated new suspicion and criticism of her political opponents.

In a Twitter post, Greene claimed that she was “SWATTED” — generally a term used to describe being raided by a law enforcement SWAT team — at her Rome, Ga., home around 1 a.m.

In her tweet, the GOP firebrand also praised local law enforcement.

“Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am. I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County. More details to come,” she said without elaboration.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Greene’s office said the congresswoman’s safety is the paramount concern.

“Right now, Congresswoman Greene’s safety is our number one concern. Late last night, she was a victim of a political attack on her family and home,” said the statement. “Whoever who committed this violent crime will face the full extent of the law.”

The outlet continued:

Greene has led GOP criticism of federal law enforcement in recent weeks ever since the FBI’s unannounced search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In the early hours of August 8, the FBI executed a search warrant on the Palm Beach mansion in an operation linked to classified documents sought by the National Archives.

Trump’s allies like Greene and GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik decried the raid as a weaponization of the Justice Department and have demanded consequences for Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

It’s prompted criticism from other Republicans who cite federal warnings of an increased wave of violent threats against federal law enforcement workers in the FBI raid’s fallout.

The ‘swatting’ of Greene’s home drew immediate criticism online.

“This is insane and unacceptable. The people behind this need to be prosecuted and serve jail time,” former NYPD officer and broadcaster John Cardillo posted.

“Elderly parents of a friend of mine were swatted as a prank. They were required to come outside with their hands up while in their pajamas. It was very stressful for them. This stuff isn’t funny. It’s serious and those who engage in this should go to jail,” another Twitter user wrote.

While the Georgia Republican has regularly targeted Democrats and the Biden administration for criticism, she has also had words with members of her own party.

In May, she blasted two top GOP lawmakers for “merging with Dems.”

In several tweets, Greene called out Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, accusing them of helping President Joe Biden with his far-left agenda.

She wrote:

I ran for Congress because when Republicans controlled the House and Senate during the first two years of Trump’s presidency, they failed to deliver key issues that were of utmost importance to Republican voters. Broken campaign promises like: Repealing Obamacare. Obamacare took my family’s premium from $800 to over $2400 Funding and building a border wall. Rs funded all kinds of things for foreign countries but wouldn’t build a wall for Americans.

Defunding Sanctuary cities. Rs funded cities that harbor illegal aliens. Defunding Planned Parenthood. During the first two years under Trump, Rs couldn’t even defund that disgusting abortion mill. No, they funded it. That’s the one I really can’t get over.

You see, Republicans have a razor-thin minority in the House, only short a few votes. This puts maximum pressure on Pelosi to perform because she can’t lose any votes, she needs her full conference to pass bills. And perform she does. I respect her for that. Easy to perform when Republicans in the House apply no real pressure even though Democrat bills are so heinously un-American. The Communist Democrat agenda could be beaten if my colleagues would legislate and take action the way many give interviews on TV.

The political pendulum has swung back & forth between Rs & Ds for decades & we’re $30 trillion in debt, on the brink of communism, at risk of economic collapse, being drug into full dependence on a global economy, & the experienced Rs want to lecture me on how it’s done?

It’s beyond me that my Conference still chooses to stay with the “messaging” and fundraising tactic to take back the House and hasn’t comprehended what everyone else on the planet knows to be true.

We won’t have a Constitution or country left to take back in ‘22 and definitely not in ‘24 if Republicans in Congress don’t get their asses in gear. If Republicans are worth their weight in salt then they better wake up and realize that they are leaving their own with no confidence and feeling like they have to take matters into their own hands.

Here is what must be done. Impeach Joe Biden. The GOP Conference must come together with Articles of Impeachment. Spend as much money as it takes to apply pressure on moderate Dems that know they will lose their seats if they vote NO on impeachment.
