House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan appears to be running out of patience with several Biden administration officials he has been attempting to coax into providing information and appearing before his committee.

The Ohio Republican has sent letters to four officials hoping they will voluntarily agree to appear and if not, he’s preparing to drop subpoenas to force them to comply, according to the Daily Caller, which exclusively obtained the letters.

The outlet said the letters were sent to Chip Slaven, former Interim Executive Director and CEO of the National School Boards Association; Nina Jankowicz, former leader of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) “Disinformation Governance Board;” Viola Garcia with the National School Boards Association and Jennifer Moore, the Executive Assistant Director for the Human Resources Branch at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

In the letters, Jordan accuses each official of ignoring requests for transcribed interviews, as well as not providing the committee with the documents and information they previously requested. Jordan gives the officials one last chance to come before the committee before sending subpoenas to the officials.

“We have made several requests to you for documents and information relating to the so-called ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ within the Department of Homeland Security and your role as the Board’s Executive Director. These requests, to include your appearance for a transcribed interview before the Committee, remain outstanding,” Jordan wrote in the letter to Jankowicz.

“These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight. As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding requests and ask that you immediately comply in full. You have been on notice about our oversight requests — and are aware that the requests are outstanding — for months. For your convenience, we have attached the letters dated May 5, 2022, and December 1, 2022,” Jordan added.

“Although your attorney has belatedly contacted the Committee, our requests are still outstanding. Accordingly, we reiterate our requests and ask that you comply promptly. The Committee is prepared to resort to compulsory process, if necessary, to obtain your testimony and this material,” his letter continued.

His letter to Slaven noted that the committee has been seeking his testimony for 14 months:

“We have requested that you appear for a transcribed interview before the Committee concerning the troubling attempts by the Department of Justice and the White House to use the heavy hand of federal law enforcement to target concerned parents at local school board meetings and chill their protected First Amendment activity. Your testimony is necessary to further our oversight. As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding request and ask that you immediately cooperate,” it began.

Accordingly, we reiterate our request that you appear promptly for a transcribed interview. The Committee is prepared to resort to compulsory process, if necessary, to obtain your testimony,” the letter added.

“Chairman Jordan has had enough and seems ready to subpoena these people if they don’t comply voluntarily. The real question is why wouldn’t they? What are they hiding?” a senior GOP aide told the Daily Caller.

Earlier, Jordan suggested that “something is up” with the federal probe into Hunter Biden because of a new interest in the story by many of the same media outlets that initially dismissed reports of corruption evidence stemming from materials and emails obtained from a laptop he reportedly abandoned at a computer repair store in Delaware in 2019.

“Well, what happened to that is you had 51 intelligence officers sign a letter saying that this Hunter Biden story was Russian misinformation when it wasn’t, and that changed — I think anyone can make a credible argument that that altered the outcome of the election and we no longer have Donald Trump in the White House because he was doing that, he was pushing back on China for the first time. And now, we have Joe Biden there, and it’s exactly the opposite direction,” Jordan said.
