The sister of President Joe Biden has dropped a novel hint about who the next major Democratic star could be — someone who could unite the party’s elite with British royalty.

In an interview with “Good Morning Britain” on Tuesday, Valerie Biden Owens, who appeared to promote her new book, “Growing Up Biden,” was asked about American actress Meghan Markle getting involved in U.S. politics, according to the Daily Mail.

“It’s wonderful to have women in politics. The more women we have the better our democratic system will work. We welcome her to come in and join the Democratic Party,” noted the president’s sister.

When she was asked if the Duchess would make a good presidential candidate someday she responded, “Yes, perhaps. Of course, she will.”

Then she went on to defend her brother’s constant “gaffes,” claiming that they are “truths” and added that he is more than mentally fit enough to be president.

“’First of all, his gaffes are truths. He speaks the truth,” she argued.

“Is he capable? Watch him. Look at him. He speaks the truth. Sometimes it comes out in a different way and people call it a gaffe. He speaks the truth,” she added.

She went on to say she was not “enthused” about his campaign against then-President Donald Trump because she feared the attacks that he and their family would face.

“All of the elections Joe ran, I was right there with him. 2020 was a different story,” she said.

“I was not enthusiastic about him running against the former president, because the former president I believe was committed to destroying my brother and my family,” she went on to explain.

But, she added, “Joe is the right person at the right time for the right job and there are lots of things still to do to carry on the agenda. There’s no daylight between the private person and the public man. The American people know what Joe is about.”

When asked if Biden would campaign again in 2024 she confirmed, “Yes. We’ve got stuff to do. Absolutely.”

As to President Biden’s mental fitness, surveys increasingly show that more Americans are growing concerned about it, with widening majorities saying they do not think he should run again:

Just 45 percent of voters believe that he is “mentally fit.” That number has gone unchanged over the past two months. It also tracks with an ABC poll last month which found 54 percent of Americans do not believe that Biden has the “mental sharpness” for office.

According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, a strong majority of voters said Biden is unfit to serve as president while also revealing the lowest job approval rating (37 percent) from the poll since becoming president over a year ago.

“The recent poll revealed that the “underlying weakness” is to the degree that most adults “have doubts about his personal capacities.” When the respondents were asked if he was a strong leader, 59 percent said no, while 36 percent said yes. In fact, those percentages resemble his job approval; 37 percent approve and 55 percent disapprove,” Breitbart reported.

“When asked about Biden’s “mental sharpness” to serve as president, 54 percent said they do not think Biden is mentally sharp enough, while only 40 percent said he is. When respondents were asked the same question in May 2020, when Biden was only a candidate, 51 percent said he had the “mental sharpness” needed to serve as president, while 43 percent said he did not,” the report added.

Last month, Republicans demanded that Biden take a mental fitness test and make the results public.

Nearly 40 GOP congressional members want Biden, 79, to follow the precedent set by his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, as recent polling increasingly shows more Americans are not certain of Biden’s mental fitness for the demanding job of president.

Led by former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, 37 other Republican colleagues signed a letter to Biden on Tuesday in which they said they had “concern” about his “current cognitive state.”

“My colleagues and I are again asking President Biden to immediately undergo a formal cognitive screening exam, such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA),” Jackson said.

“As a former physician to three Presidents of the United States, I know what it takes mentally and physically to execute the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Jackson added. “Joe Biden has continually proven to me and to the world that something isn’t right. The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President’s cognitive ability.”
