The New York Post Was Hacked. Now We Finally Know Who Was Behind It.

The New York Post on Thursday morning began publishing a series of unusually bad headlines.

These weren’t the typically salacious clickbait headlines that the Post has been wont to publish in recent weeks, such as “Video showing how McRib is made has McDonald’s customers reaching for barf bags” or “I painted my nails red and have never been asked out on so many dates” or even “Woman stabbed 100 times, beheaded by drunk boyfriend after refusing to have sex with him.”

These were bad.

A sample of those that can actually be published are shown below. Mind you, these are fake stories.

It’s important to note that these headlines pushed a left-wing narrative: The ‘far-right’ is violent and dangerous.

(In reality, the opposite is much closer to the truth, as will be discussed below.)

“The New York Post has been hacked,” the Post said on Twitter. “We are currently investigating the cause.”

The Post’s stories were quickly taken down. A spokesman said that the content came at the hands of a disgruntled worker.

“The New York Post’s investigation indicates that the unauthorized conduct was committed by an employee, and the employee has been terminated,” the spokesman told media outlets.

Yet, even though the New York Post said that the tweets were fake, the Kathy Hochul campaign later in the morning issued a press statement as if the headlines were real.

“The New York Post has long fostered an ugly, toxic conversation on their front pages and social accounts, but these posts are more disgusting and vile than usual,” the campaign said. “While the Post has made its preferences very clear in the New York Governor’s race, there is no room for this violent, sexist rhetoric in our politics. We demand answers.”

Lee Zeldin did not make the remarks in question. Kathy Hochul’s campaign knew this. The campaign nonetheless demanded ‘answers,’ or presumably, an apology from Zeldin over the fake report. This is ‘Woke’ politics in 2022.

It reeks of a desperate move by a political candidate who craves being seen as a victim in a race against a Republican opponent who has had to brave two assassination attempts during his campaign.

On Wednesday, The View’s Sunny Hostin downplayed the political assassination attempt on Zeldin in July by saying that ‘he’s hated.’

“And homicides are up,” Hostin noted. “And I think most people — having been a prosecutor, I know this — they care about violent crimes. They don’t care about broken window crimes. They really don’t care about that as much. They care about violent crimes. And so —“

“In the last few months, Lee Zeldin was nearly stabbed on stage while campaigning in New York. A bullet came within thirty —“ Griffin said.

“Well, he’s hated,” Hostin said. “That’s true.”

“Yeah,” Whoopi added.

“That’s not OK though,” Griffin objected. “That’s horrifying.”

“No, I’m not saying so,” Hostin said, and added, “He is — he is —“

“It’s crime and political violence,” Griffin said.

“Right,” Whoopi agreed.

“And then, there — he’s — there was a shooting outside of his house that came within 30 feet of his home while his daughters were in the house,” Griffin added. “He is very familiar with the crime that is going on. And one thing I want —“

“No, he’s familiar with what just happened to him,” Whoopi remarked. “Because that’s New York’s — that’s New York City right now.”

“That’s New York City right now.”

Kathy Hochul in n her debate against Zeldin on Tuesday night, dismissed concerns about crime in the city.

“She still hasn’t talked about locking up anyone committing any crimes,” Zeldin said at one point in the debate.

“Anyone who commits a crime under our laws, especially with the change we made to bail, has consequences,” Hochul responded.

“I don’t know why that’s so important to you,” Hochul added.

This may be the tone-deaf political comment of the year.

It’s no wonder that Kathy Hochul is grasping at straws — in this case, fake news headlines — in a hail mary attempt to get sympathy from voters. But New Yorkers are too busy suffering at the hands of an out-of-control state government to care about her contrived drama. They have real problems to worry about.
