Former Speaker of the House and Democrat California Rep. Nancy Pelosi had a meltdown of the floor of the House of Representatives before her colleague, Rep. Adam Schiff, was officially voted on to be censured.

She was furious with Republicans for voting on the measure and tore into them for being “puppets” of the “puppeteer,” former President Donald Trump.

“Today, we are on the floor of the House where the other side has turned this chamber, where slavery was abolished, where Medicare and Social Security and everything were instituted, they’ve turned it into a puppet show,” she said before calling Trump “the puppeteer.”

“You look miserable,” she continued, adding again: “You look miserable.”

“You’re wasting your time,” she said.

Wednesday evening, the resolution to censure Schiff passed by a vote of 213-209; only Republicans voted for the censure, with all Democrats voting against it. Six GOP members voted “present.”

Immediately following the vote, Democrats gathered on the floor and chanted “Shame!” and “Disgrace!” as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., tried to gavel the House in order for several minutes. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was heard calling McCarthy a “spiteful coward” and accusing him of “weak leadership.”

McCarthy then asked Schiff to present himself in the well of the House, and Democrats clapped and cheered as he approached. After being interrupted several times by Democrats, McCarthy said, “I have all night.”

Schiff then stood in well of the House as required by the resolution, and was hugged and cheered by dozens of Democrats who surrounded him. The measure also requires the House Committee on Ethics to investigate Schiff’s “falsehoods, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information.”

It came after 20 Republicans last week voted against a resolution to censure Rep. Schiff and fine him $16 million, or half the cost of the Russian collusion investigation.

The Republican representative who introduced the legislation made the announcement on Twitter after the vote.

“20 Republicans voted against the recommended fine, censure, and investigation of Schiff. I don’t think they read the bill in entirety. Next week, we will be filing a motion to censure and investigate Schiff. We are removing fine as that seems to be what made these Republicans uneasy,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said.

The 20 Republicans who voted to save Rep. Schiff are Reps.  Armstrong, Chavez-DeRemer, Ciscomani, Cole, Davidson, Fitzpatrick, Granger, Graves (LA), Kean (NJ), Kiley, Kim (CA), Lawler, Massie, McClintock, Molinaro, Obernolte, Simpson, Turne,r Valadao, and Womack.

Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of the Freedom Caucus announced in May that she filed a privileged resolution against the Democrat with a fine attached to it of $16 million.

“I just filed a privileged resolution, H. Res. 437, to censure, condemn, & fine Rep. Adam Schiff $16 million (1/2 the cost of Russia investigation) for his egregious abuse of trust. I, with my GOP colleagues, look forward to an imminent vote to hold this feckless man accountable,” she said.

Last week she introduced a measure to expel Rep. Schiff from the House of Representatives after special counsel John Durham’s report revealed he repeatedly lied about “collusion” between former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.

For years, Schiff repeatedly lied to the country claiming he had “evidence” of said collusion while also launching needless “investigations” into the allegation.

“Adam Schiff lied to the American people,” Luna said. “He used his position on House Intelligence to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the trust placed in him as Chairman.

“He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives. The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country,” she added.

In response, Schiff tweeted: “BREAKING NEWS: A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives. I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback. They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law.”

Schiff, who led the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into Trump’s alleged ties with Russia, was also accused of “leaking classified information” to spread more false claims about the Trump-Russia witch hunt.
