Amid the turmoil at Fox News following the departure of Tucker Carlson, network personality and late-night host Greg Gutfeld has had a remarkable month. Amid the network’s struggles, Gutfeld has made history by becoming the first late-night host on a cable news network to beat all broadcast network competitors in total viewers for an entire month.

Gutfeld, co-host of both “The Five” and his own late-night show “Gutfeld!,” has remained a dominant force in cable news. In addition to his TV success, Gutfeld is also set to release a new book titled “The King of Late Night” on July 25, which chronicles how he became the #1 late-night show host on television, having successfully taken on heavyweight competitors in the mainstream late-night landscape.

“The Five” dominated the 5 PM ET timeslot on Friday night as the most-watched show on all of cable news, with a total of 2.5 million viewers. By comparison, CNN’s “Situation Room” had only 698,000 viewers, while Newsmax’s “Frontline” had just 282,000.

Meanwhile, Gutfeld! continues to bring in historic viewership for Fox News, especially since the show has not been affected by a writer’s strike that has impacted the late-night offerings on the broadcast networks.

“The show replaced news program Fox News @ Night in April 2021, and has made double-digit gains on Fox since, with a 44 percent boost in total viewers and a 25 percent gain in the key 25-54 age demographic. Since its debut, Gutfeld! has averaged 1.9 million total viewers and 332,000 in the key demo. That audience has only grown from the debut: its first episode brought in about 1.7 million viewers total and 318,000 demo viewers — a strong showing that topped all of cable news at 11 p.m.,” Mediaite reported.

Gutfeld has emerged as the current undisputed top host at Fox News in terms of viewership. In an April monologue to open his show, Gutfeld noted that a majority of Americans are “disillusioned” with the political system.

“A new Gallup poll shows a record number of Americans are identifying as politically independent, 49%, in fact, compared to 25% who identify as Republicans and another 25 who identify as female competitive swimmers. That’s shocking since just two decades ago, independents accounted for the lowest percentage of voters. As seen in this easy-to-understand graph,” he began,

So you might be asking yourself – self what happened since 2004? I mean, other than Joe Biden’s hair plugs turning 60? Gallup points to the disillusionment with the political system, US institutions and the two parties which are seen as ineffectual, too political and too extreme. So yeah, you could say people are fed up with two parties, but we’ve been saying that forever. Something different is going on. First, believing in the Constitution, a strong border, low taxes and basic biology is an extreme,” he continued.

WATCH:

So could it be this current administration is so incompetent and far left it scared the living s*** out of everybody, creating a new pool of liberals who can’t recognize liberals anymore? Think about it. Who would have thought there would be a party who champions drag queens as in school entertainment? Who would have thought there would be a party that happily defends grown men beating women in sports? Who would have thought there would be a party run by people who collectively fart dust? It means they’re old,” he quipped.

“People are going independent because there’s just no accountability anymore. Bad stuff just disappears. And the disappearances only go in one direction. Some Democrats commit crimes and walk away scot-free. Meanwhile, a Trumper makes one mistake at the Capitol – in jail to this day. That should disillusion anyone. There are other head-scratchers too. Like whatever happened to Jeffrey Epstein’s client list? Seems like it’s the only classified doc under lock and key these days,” Gutfeld noted.
