Fox News host and top conservative radio talker Mark Levin blasted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Wednesday after former President Donald Trump appeared in court to hear the charges against him and the unsealing of the DA’s indictment.

Levin criticized the decision to indict Trump during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s program, where he argued that there is no underlying crime that Trump supposedly committed in the court filing.

“There has to be an underlying crime. Well, people are saying, ‘Well, what is it?’ I’m saying, well, what underlying crime did Donald Trump commit? He didn’t commit any underlying crime, and he wasn’t charged with any underlying crime. He wasn’t charged with federal election violations, even though that’s not the jurisdiction of the D.A. There’s nothing here,” Levin told Hannity.

“But I want to get into something here. Donald Trump is a historic figure, or they would not be doing this. They would not be doing this,” Levin added. “There would not have been a January 6 committee. There would not have been a Mueller criminal investigation. There would not have been two phony impeachments.

“Listen to this America, there would not have been a warrant, which is inexcusable and an unconstitutional warrant in my view, an FBI swat team sent to his home. There has been in the course of the last few months five grand juries controlled by Democrats,” he noted further.

“Over what? You would have thought this man took money from the communist Chinese. You would have thought his son took money from the communist Chinese. You would have thought he is the criminal of this century,” Levin continued.

Levin, a lawyer who worked at the Justice Department during Ronald Reagan’s presidency and is an expert in constitutional law, criticized Bragg’s decision to indict Trump, accusing him of campaigning on a promise to ‘get’ him.

“The Manhattan D.A. should be disbarred not only because of the way he campaigned – because you know what? This is crap that a pre-law student shouldn’t even put in front of a damn judge,” he railed.

He then went after what he sees as the Democrats’ plan to change America, saying, “this party wants to change the Supreme Court. They want to change the Senate. They want to eliminate the filibuster rule, eliminate the Electoral College. They’re attacking the First Amendment. They want to eliminate the Second Amendment. They’re violating the Fourth and the Fifth Amendments. You know what this is? This is tyranny.”

A growing number of Republicans and conservatives, meanwhile, believe that the only way to stop the Democratic onslaught against Trump is for GOP prosecutors to go after leading Democratic figures too, like the Clintons and the Bidens.

Former President George W. Bush’s press secretary, for instance, laid out a plan to end Democratic persecution and prosecution of Donald Trump during an interview Wednesday on Fox News.

Network contributor Ari Fleischer told host Sean Hannity that Democrats will continue to go after the former president and leading contender for the 2024 GOP nomination until Republican prosecutors begin indicting top Democratic officials like Hillary Clinton and the Bidens.

“One of the raps against Donald Trump is that he violates the norms and as a result the Democrats had no choice, prosecutors had no choice,” Fleischer said. “What’s happened to Donald Trump is actually the real violation of the norms.

“He was impeached the first time by a process that did not even go through the Judiciary Committee. They’ve wrecked a bipartisan intelligence committee at the hands of Adam Schiff to get Donald Trump,” he continued.

“Here’s what I hope happens,” Fleischer said. “I earnestly hope that conservative prosecutors in rural areas of America indict Bill Clinton, indict Hillary Clinton, indict Hunter Biden. The only way to stop this and return to the norms is for one side to realize if they go too far, the other will match them.

“That’s not the way we settle our disputes in America. They should be settled at the ballot box and not through the courts. But Republicans cannot unilaterally disarm,” he continued. “You can’t let them try to interfere in the 2024 election by doing to Donald Trump what they’re doing.

According to House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), Republican DAs already do want a little payback regarding President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

“I had two calls yesterday, one from a county attorney in Kentucky and one from a county attorney in Tennessee. They were Republican, obviously, both states are heavily Republican. They want to know if there are ways they can go after the Bidens now,” Comer told Fox News in a separate interview.
